Ingredients
- 2 apples
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons raisins
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoons butter (optional)
- Core the apple leaving the bottom intact.
- Core the apple leaving the bottom intact.
- In a bowl, mis brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and raisins. Spoon the sugar mixture into the apples and set a teaspoon of butter on top of each apple.
- Place the apples in a deep casserole dish and cover with the lid.
- Microwave for 3 ½ – 4 minutes or until tender. Let the apples sit for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes:
- Dried cranberries can be substituted for raisins.
- Apple-pie apice or pumpkin spice can be substituted for nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Any variety of apples such as Golden Delicious, Fuiji, Granny Smith, Gala, or Braeburn can be used.
